Population
The population of Marlboro has grown rapidly. Today approximately 36,000 people live in Marlboro, an increase of 100% in the last twenty years. The township has close to 22,000 registered voters and in the latest presidential election about 2/3 of eligible voters did vote. The voters gave strong majorities to Democratic candidates for all offices in that election.
Jewish Living in Marlboro
Marlboro is an area where an observant Jewish lifestyle can be comfortably led.
A Solomon Schechter Day School for grades K-8 is located in Marlboro. The school is less than 5 minutes from the

A Schechter summer day camp is located 20 minutes from Marlboro in East
Brunswick.
The Marlboro ShopRite has a large Kosher Experience store within a store. This offers an extensive selection of Kosher products, year round, for local residents. The store also features Kosher deli and fish counters, as well as fresh baked goods.
As a result of this other supermarkets have significantly expanded their kosher
selection year round. The local Acme has a pareve bakery. An independent Kosher bakery serves the community as well.
Residents also are served by Kosher dining establishments, most of which offer catering options. In addition to delicatessens, there is a Pizzeria, a Chinese restaurant, and a Middle Eastern Grill. All of these establishments are within 10 minutes driving of the Synagogue.
The Jewish infrastructure here reflects the large Jewish population in the Marlboro and neighboring towns Manalapan and Freehold. At least nine congregations call these towns home.
Recreation and Shopping
There are over 20 movie screens within a 15 minute drive of the synagogue. A slightly longer drive to Red Bank (22 minutes) will offer a smaller theatre showing movies that are less commercial in nature. You will also be able to find other typical recreation outlets Health Facilities/Gyms; Bowling Alleys; Indoor Tennis and Racquet Facilities; Large Public Libraries; Parks within 10 minutes of the synagogue.
The community is within easy driving distance of two large metropolitan areas, Philadelphia and New York, which offer all the attractions one would expect to find in a premier city. New York is just 40 miles from Marlboro and Philadelphia is 55 miles away.
The state of New Jersey also offers many cultural and other attractions. The Jersey shore is just 25 minutes from Marlboro. Two major universities, Princeton and Rutgers, are within 35 minutes drive of Marlboro. These campuses also offer many interesting arts and entertainment events. The State Theatre is located in New Brunswick, just 25 minutes from Marlboro, with plays and music events offered several times a week. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra plays in New Brunswick. Newark is home of the beautiful new New Jersey Performance Art Center (NJPAC). NJPAC is just 40 minutes driving from Marlboro and offers top shelf performers and events.
Shopping of all kinds is available within easy driving distance. The Freehold Mall is one of the largest shopping Malls in Central New Jersey. The Mall features an outstanding anchor line-up including Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, JCPenney, Sears and Macy's as well as over 215 stores and eateries to serve this rapidly growing region. The Freehold Mall is 15 minutes from Marlboro. Other malls are within a 20 minute drive and there are no shortage of shopping plazas along most major roads.
