About Marlboro Jewish Center
Congregation Ohev Shalom is one of the largest congregations in New Jersey and is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Founded in 1970, the congregation is proud to be the home for generations of families. One of the first egalitarian congregations in the country, our synagogue accords men and women equal opportunities for participation in religious services. Women can be called to the Torah, lead services, and be counted in the prayer minyan (the ten adults necessary for a prayer quorum). With a membership of nearly 700 households, Ohev Shalom boasts a bustling nursery school, Hebrew school from 1st to 12th grades, and award-winning USY teen programs. We offer diverse adult education programs, community outreach, and many more services to our membership. There are several religious services scheduled for each Shabbat, holiday observances, and an evening minyan throughout the work week.
Under the guidance of Rabbi Michael Pont and Cantor Wayne Krieger, Marlboro Jewish Center strives to preserve Jewish learning and tradition while simultaneously meeting the present needs of our community.
