Men's Club
Men's Club
As an affiliate of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs,Northern New Jersey Region, The Marlboro Jewish Center Men’s Club aims to fulfill the mission of involving Jewish Men in Jewish Life.
MJC Men’s Club is an active chapter with as many as 50-75 members who participate in a range of activities that are planned for throughout the year. The activities provide valuable services and functions for the congregation. These include participating in social events that involve other congregants, joint events with other local Men’s Clubs, and activities for couples and family alike.
Each year the MJC Men’s Club builds the synagogue Sukkahs on Sukkot for both the Sanctuary building and the Chai building, as well as at the Rabbi’s and Cantor’s homes. As an active way for Marlboro Jewish Center to participate in Marlboro Day, we provide a sukkah for all to enjoy. In addition, the Men’s Club joins the congregation in celebrating Chanukah by cooking latkes at the congregation’s celebration. To commemorate Yom Hashoah, we deliver yellow candles to the homes of all members of MJC. We also lead a Men’s Club Shabbat service each year and we provide gifts to all B’nai Mitzvah.
The Men’s Club holds quarterly breakfast meetings and arranges for interesting lectures for seminar topics. Past topics have included Men’s Health and Fitness, Jews in Sports, Coping with Aging Parents, American Jewish Affairs, and Work and Worth.
Furthermore, throughout the year, social events are planned that include our famous Sports Bar in the Sukkah as well as a party to watch the AFC or NFC Championship game that leads to the Super Bowl. We have planned couples activities including comedy club trips, wine tasting, and a couples bowling league, as well as family events including sports day, a picnic, and family bowling. We run Texas Hold-Em Tournaments at the synagogue for our members and their friends and the winner earns a prestigious trophy.
It is our hope that each of our male congregants becomes familiar with our Men’s Club. We look forward to welcoming you.
